Colin Freeman (NDD) studied art and
design at Cambridge School of Art.
Born in Essex, he has lived in East
Anglia all his life where painting and photography have run parallel
to his work as a graphic designer and illustrator. He also taught
painting and drawing at the Mid Essex Adult Community College,
Brentwood for a few years. He lives in Coggeshall and exhibits
locally as well as The Beecroft, Southend, The Gallery, Stock and
earlier this year at the Colchester Institute Summer Show. His
first one-man exhibition, The Graphic Eye, was at Lauderdale House,
Highgate in 2002.
In the past his wide choice of subject
matter and style has come from his work as a designer. You will
see that he works in a variety of media - watercolour, acrylic,
oil, charcoal and even computer generation.
He is attracted to the all natural forms
of the landscape, trees and plants. Recently a more abstracted
style is developing together with more figure and life drawing.
