| Rosemary is co-proprietor of the BoatyardGallery,
with her husband, David.
Rosemary has painted all her life, having specialised in water-colour
in the early years. More recently, she held two ‘one-man’ exhibitions,
at the Pin Mill Gallery in 1996, and at the Ipswich Tourist Information
Centre in 1997.
In 1996, she won a Highly Commended Award from Alwyn Crawshaw in a competition
run by the Haste Gallery in Ipswich.
Having worked on a semi-professional basis for a long time, she made the big
decision in June 2001 to give up the ‘day-job’ and concentrate
on painting full time.
Her aim is communication through painting, with light and feeling in the work.
She works in oil, water-colour and acrylic. She is particularly interested
in the uses of colour and is using the medium to speak for itself in the work.
She is working on responding to landscape in terms of shapes and colour to
convey the spirit of the subject.
A selection of work is on show at the Boatyard Gallery, but her
portfolio of broader themed work can be seen on request.
High quality prints are available.
She has studied with Ken Cuthbert, Charlotte Stewart and Margaret
Glass.
She worked on the Children’s Activity Week in August 2001,
and the Suffolk Show in June 2002, helping the children to produce
large mosaics. One can be seen in the Felixstowe Leisure Centre
main hall. She is working on the design of a memorial to the victims
of the 1953 floods, to be sited in Felixstowe. |
