About Dunmow Art Gallery

The policy of the Gallery is primarily to provide a showpiece, mainly for the large number of local artists in the immediate area, both amateur and professional. Each month sees a change of exhibition alternating "one person shows" with a collective exhibition featuring a number of artists.

The Summer and Christmas exhibitions are examples of the latter. The Summer Local Artists exhibition consists of between 40 and 50 paintings by local painters depicting anywhere and anything in the world, whereas "Scene Locally" at Christmas shows scenes of the fairly immediate local area.

Dunmow Art Gallery is located in the centre of the High Street in Great Dunmow, Essex. It is one of the newest galleries in Essex, having been opened in April 1999.

Dunmow is a busy market town near the M11 motorway and the A120, within easy reach of Cambridge, Colchester, Chelmsford and Stansted Airport.
